Unfortunately, we are faced with the reality of NO Christmas Bazaar this year. I am as disappointed as many of you are. While we are in Phase 2 of the State’s Covid-19 reopening plan, we are restricted to 5 people in the gym! If we do move into Phase 3 by November or early December, we could have up to 50 people in the gym.
The challenges of holding this fun community event are huge. I may not have time for posters or proper advertising with short notice of a Phase 3 reopening…
During phase 3, another option would be to have a multi-day event where 10 vendors could set up each day and we monitor how many shoppers can enter at a time. I would need a committee or team of vendors to pull this off. If any of you are interested and can find the time to discuss a last minute Christmas bazaar event, I am willing.
Other options include participating in two local Holiday pop up stores. One is at TwispWorks, and Sara Prochnau is the coordinator. You can contact her at email@example.com. They take a small commission and run the store the month of December. Amanda Jackson with Methow Arts is also hosting a pop-up store. Her contact information is at their website, http://www.methowarts.org/.
The Methow Valley Farmers Market will hold their markets throughout the month of October. You can contact them through firstname.lastname@example.org. There is an application process which is not daunting, but supports this long running community market.
I hope we can continue this wonderful community event next year.
