Energy Retrofit Updates
Construction continues on the three-story side of the building, with all three floors now under construction. Here are some estimated timelines for the remainder of the Energy Retrofit Project.
April 20th- July 15th • Construction on the 3rd floor. (Lorrie Wilson Dance, Pasayten Tae Kwon Do, Mountainsound Guitar Studio-Terry Hunt, Pipestone Music, Twisp Wellspring)
By May 20th • Construction to be completed in the basement and on the main floor (Twisp Library, Visitor’s Information Center, and Cascadia Music, Methow Salmon Recovery Foundation).
Access to the community center will be limited to the entry door by the gym through May 20th. Both restrooms, and the gym will be accessible during this period of construction.
The Methow Valley Community Center Office has temporarily relocated to the Coach’s Lounge across the street through May 20th, and will maintain our regular business hours from Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 4 PM. We welcome folks visiting.
All organizations have temporarily relocated to other locations for the duration of construction. Lorrie Wilson and Pasayten Tae Kwon Do are offering their classes out of the gym.
April 22nd Update

February 6th Update
We have started construction on the three-story side of the building, and work has begun in the basement. Here are some estimated timelines for the remainder of the Energy Retrofit Project.
March 2nd - May 20th • Construction is underway on the main floor (Twisp Library, Visitor’s Information Center, and Cascadia Music). During this period, all organizations on the main floor will temporarily relocate to another location.
November 19th Update
We are excited for our big reveal of the new and improved gymnasium at our first Christmas Bazaar on November 22nd. Visitors will enjoy the comfortable atmosphere of our warm, brightly lit gym.
HVAC System: The gymnasium was outfitted with a new compressor, ducting, and blowers, which were installed on the rooftop of the gym, resulting in a the space with reliable, energy-efficient, comfortable heating and cooling.
Gym Progress: New trim and doors finish off the newly remodeled gymasium. New basketball backboards and nets were also installed, thanks to the generous help of AAU Basketball, Cascade Pipe and Supply, Matt Port, and Barry Stromberger. A new lighting system brightens the gym, with a dimmable feature to adjust the lighting for specific useage.
Portico Replacement: A new portico graces the entrance into the building, which was once again designed by Howard Cherrington.

July 30th Update
After a tremendous effort to ready the space, Phase I of the Energy Retrofit Project began July 1st.
Our project manager, Ken Kinzle from Impel Construction keeps things running smoothly.
A new power line is being brought in for the new HVAC system. Pat Norwil, our electrical contractor stepped in to help, with David Harris adding the much-needed update to the lighting.
The gym walls are readied for insulation-something the building has never had. The interior walls are firred in to prepare for the addition of insulation.

2022 - May 2025 Update
Completed HVAC Engineering Study and have plans drawn for the insulation package.
20-Year renewable lease secured from MVSD through 2042.
Impel Construction hired as general contractor.
