A band of full and part-time Methow-ites went on a private safari in Tanzania this past August. They traveled with drivers who were bird experts as well as being animal guides. They went from south of the Serengeti ecosystem, where the most bird species are found, to the north, where they watched the giant herds of wildebeests crossing the Mara River into Kenya.
Two went on to Rwanda to see the mountain gorillas and newly discovered families of Golden Monkeys. They also found unexpectedly great coffee in Rwanda.
